11. Wash The Chinese Cabbage
- Fill the bowl containing the Chinese cabbage with water.
- Don't fill the bowl with water at the top to prevent the Chinese cabbage from falling down into the sink.
- If there is too much Chinese cabbage in the bowl, place some Chinese cabbage in another bowl to wash the Chinese cabbage easier.
- Using one or both hands, pick up some Chinese cabbage and then drop the Chinese cabbage back into the water. Repeat about three to five times.
- Using the pick up and drop technique, water is being moved around the bowl. The power of the moving water removes the dirt from the Chinese cabbage.
- Place the clean Chinese cabbage into a bowl.
- Repeat to clean all the Chinese cabbage.
- The dirt removed from the Chinese cabbage are on the bottom of the bowl.
- Repeat the cleaning process again for a second time. If the Chinese cabbage is really dirty, wash three times. (To save time, start boiling the water in a pot. Fill the pot with 1 inch of water.)
- Suggestion: Use a taller bowl or pot to clean the Chinese cabbage because the taller height better separates the Chinese cabbage and the dirt settling on the bottom.
