8. Wash The Cabbage
- Fill the bowl containing the cabbage with water.
- Don't fill the bowl with water at the top to prevent the cabbage from falling down into the sink.
- If there is too much cabbage in the bowl, place some cabbage in another bowl to wash the cabbage easier.
- Using one or both hands, pick up some cabbage and then drop the cabbage back into the water. Repeat about three to five times.
- Using the pick up and drop technique, water is being moved around the bowl. The power of the moving water removes the dirt from the cabbage.
- Place the clean cabbage into a caldron (right side of photo).
- Repeat to clean all the cabbage.
- The dirt removed from the cabbage are on the bottom of the bowl.
- Repeat the cleaning process again for a second time. If the cabbage is really dirty, wash three times.
- Suggestion: Use a taller bowl or pot to clean the cabbage because the taller height better separates the cabbage and the dirt settling on the bottom.
