In many instances, you need to add mayonnaise, ketchup, and/or more sweet pickle relish. The reason is people have different tastes for 1000 Island. In the picture on the right, I'm adding more ketchup to make the color more brownish tan and to remove the mayonnaise smell. Stir again.
